Current auction of mine on eBay…
Better than Cake!
You are a bidding on a brand new, still sealed in bag, never been opened, official Weighted Companion Cube plush toy from Valve – and with it you will receive one of my last remaining Companion Cube Keychains. The plushes sold out within days of their initial release, and then again when Valve made a second run months ago. No sign of a third chance, so don’t miss out on this opportunity! The keychains I made got a lot of positive reactions and I no longer sell them on eBay – so this is a very rare chance to get two awesome goodies to remember your time at Aperture Laboratories.
Plush details: made of soft polyester fiber, approx 6″x6″x6″, and brand new in the bag.
Keychain details: 1.25″ x 1.25″ x .100″ laser cut aluminum, with a brushed finish.
This cube needs your love!
Don’t be fooled by GLaDOS, you know you want this.

Mike apparently gave me the plague in Seattle, even though it waited until Wednesday of last week to really kick in. Since then I’ve been popping Sudafed and doing shots of NyQuil while my immune system ineffectualy battles the microscopic bastards. A typical cold for me starts with a lingering sore throat, then incapacitates me for a day or two, transitions into infuriating sinus preasure, then lingers for a week of persistent coughting and sneezing before fading back to a sore throat. Repeating twice a year on average to make my life hell.
Uhg. I need to go binge on some vitamin C.

Skipping the “Day 3 at NWBC” post like I planned, I’ll just post a general overview instead. Three days of awesomeness and only a handful of videos taken, I had a brief spark of genius filming my Raptor on patrol around the convention hall while the crowd was thinning out. A couple sound clips and an hour or two of my life later and I have the fun little video to the right. So far as the rest of Sunday, I missed the sacrifice Ry made to the con-gods that morning, and didn’t get a chance to grab myself any upgraded artillery for the Nerf wars, but all in all it was pure geeky fun. I left Seattle Exhausted but forever hooked on the LEGO Con experience.

Futuron Don goes to BrickCon
Didn’t wake up until 11, rode the monorail, missed the wacky race, hid from the hoards of public visitors, met Megatron, took a Nerf missile to the ear, planted more M8s, parties at TS McHugh’s, then at the Queen Anne, and finally caught a cab back to my room around 3am. Good times.

Space Needle
Got up surprisingly early, tried to take the monorail over to the Seattle Center but it was closed so I had to take the bus, got the the general area but not close enough, got lost, got to where I needed to be without realizing it, got sent on a goose hunt in the rain, found the place, set up my stuff, geeked around, had Thai food, laughed through a presentation, watched everyone go nuts at the LEGO store, and got to tour Valve HQ and preview the new zombie game “Left 4 Dead”! Epic.

in about 24 hours I’ll be at the airport preparing to fly into Seattle for the 2008 BrickCon… I’ve got my assorted models and what have you packed up, my information ready to print, and hopefully everything else ready to go so I don’t panic tomorrow and forget anything. I might be more excited about this than I was about the Comic Con, because more of the geeks I know online are going to be there and I’ll be in a different state for hte first time in a couple years (no including the trip to Mexico from January, that doesn’t count because it’s pretty much like souther California down there as it is).
So yeah, been focusing on this for the past week or so and haven’t really had much else crossing my mind. Last minute preparations are always the most interesting. Mountains of pictures to follow I’m sure. At least the condo I’m staying in has free internet and now that I’ve submitted to Vista I can deal with my laptop.
Excitement!
