a good Saturday
Went over to the Watsonville airport for the 46th annual fly-in & air show they were putting on this weekend, and it was a blast. There was a nice selection of planes I haven’t seen before – including this slick Yak-9U, a Harrier jet (even though it was grounded), a massive C17 Globemaster, and a bunch of personal light sport planes and kit builds. As a strange bonus there were a pair of monster trucks out there jumping around the runway too. The finale for the day was a tactical demonstration with one of the Lemore based Super Hornets… which I see pretty much daily taking off over my house coming from the Fresno ANG base, but given the conditions it was still a very impressive show. Once again I took far too many pictures and only uploaded a handful. It’s a lot of fun in person but the shots tend to repeat a lot.
